Enterprise CCTV Upgrade Across a Retail Bank Estate

Client: Regional retail bank

Modernized IP video estate with central recording, analytics, and audit-ready retention across multiple branches.

Context

A regional retail bank operating a multi-branch estate needed to retire an aging analog CCTV environment that could no longer meet operational, evidentiary, or regulator-driven retention requirements. Nash was engaged to design and deploy a standardized IP video system across the estate, with central recording, analytics, and a retention model aligned to internal audit and regulator expectations.

Challenge

  1. 1Replace mixed-vintage analog cameras and recorders without interrupting branch operations.
  2. 2Standardize on a single platform and design pattern across all branches.
  3. 3Meet retention and evidentiary export requirements under internal audit review.
  4. 4Integrate with existing branch network and security operations.

Solution

Scope

Standardized branch CCTV design with IP cameras, edge switching, structured cabling, and central NVR. Includes design template, branch BOM, cutover procedure, and operator training. Estate rolled out in waves with parallel operation during transition.

Technologies

  • IP cameras with analytics-capable models at high-risk points
  • Standardized PoE switching and structured cabling
  • Centralized network video recorder with redundancy
  • Audit-aligned retention and export workflows

Engagement model

Single design-build contract with wave-based branch deployment, run by a Nash project manager and a dedicated low-current crew supported by network engineering.

Duration

Multi-month wave rollout aligned to branch operating windows.

Outcome

Quantitative results

  • Estate standardized on a single CCTV platform and design pattern.
  • Retention and export workflows aligned to audit and regulator requirements.
  • Branch cutover windows compressed by parallel operation during transition.

Qualitative

Branch and head-office security teams now operate against a single, documented standard — and audit response moved from a manual scramble to a defined export procedure.

Artifacts available on request

  • Standard branch CCTV design pack
  • Cutover and parallel-operation procedure
  • Retention and export workflow documentation
